Resolute Forest Products recently released highlights of its 2021 environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance. The company stated in a release that it surpassed its 30 percent greenhouse gas (GHG) emission (scope 1 and 2) reduction target, cutting them by 34 percent compared to 2015 levels.

Further, Resolute noted that since 2000, its climate initiatives have reduced scope 1 and 2 emissions at its pulp, paper and tissue mills by 86 percent. This is equivalent to more than 8.6 million metric tons of CO2 equivalents per year.

In 2021, Resolute also achieved an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) incident rate of 0.47. The company noted that more than half of its facilities completed the year without a single recordable incident.
